The Right Format
I provide mastered files ready for digital and physical release. I also provide additional masters for social media posts at no additional charge. Your music will sound its best wherever it is heard.
I understand that your music has a unique sound that can be enhanced by selective processing and careful attention to detail.
Typical turnaround of 5 working days from mix upload to mastered file download.
Where/How do I pay for the mastering?
After contacting me for a quote, I will email you with our suggestions for the mix and some information about how to prepare your mix for mastering. I listen to your requirements, timeframe and goals. Based on this I will provide a quote (usually £75 per song). If you accept, I will give you access to a project folder to upload mixes and download your mastered files. I prefer to give a personal service like this because I know that mastering is never a “One size fits all” job.
What is the “file upload” for on the contact form?
This is an optional step when contacting for a quote. Simply attach an mp3 or WAV file and I can offer mix suggestions before I take on the project. If you like the suggestions and the quote/timeframe we provide then we can send you an invoice and begin work right away. If you change your mind, that’s okay! I want to make sure you are happy with every step of the process.
How long does it take to master my music?
I aim for a turnaround of 5 working days. This ensures that I have enough time to give your music the full priority it deserves and that I can make any final adjustments after listening on many devices and in many environments.
Do you offer mix feedback?
I will make suggestions if I believe a mix improvement could yield a better master. For detailed feedback, I would recommend joining our free discord community.
How do I send you my mix and download my mastered file?
After confirming the price of your project, I will create a personal project folder using dropbox or google drive. Here you can upload mixes and download your final masters. I typically ask for a WAV file of your mix with and without any master bus processing. Please leave at least 3dB of headroom (Peaking at -3dB or lower) and export at the highest quality possible. Do not up or downsample, if your project was recorded/produced at 44.1kHz / 48kHz / 96kHz then please send me it at the same settings. My equipment can handle any downsampling in the most non-destructive and musical way.
Can I have revisions?
Absolutely! I want you to be 100% satisfied with the results so we offer 2 revisions as standard.
What equipment/plugins do you use?
I work in an acoustically balanced room with a world-class, all-analogue monitoring system from PSI. This ensures that I can hear every detail in your music. I can then apply carefully chosen effects, processing and tools to remedy any issues and enhance the impact and depth of your song. I am happy to share precisely what was done to your music during the mastering process – no secrets here, just good old fashioned hard work.
