FAQs
Where/How do I pay for the mastering?
I accept payments through Stripe in multiple currencies. After contacting me, I will send you suggestions for the mix and some information about how to prepare your mix for mastering.
What is the “file upload” for on the contact form?
This is an optional step when contacting for a quote. Simply attach an mp3 or WAV file and I can offer mix suggestions before I take on the project. If you like the suggestions and the quote/timeframe we provide then we can send you an invoice and begin work right away. If you change your mind, that’s okay! I want to make sure you are happy with every step of the process.
How long does it take to master my music?
I aim for a turnaround of 5 working days. This ensures that I have enough time to give your music the full priority it deserves and that I can make any final adjustments after listening on many devices and in many environments.
Do you offer mix feedback?
I will make suggestions if I believe mix improvement could yield a better master.
How do I send you my mix and download my mastered file?
After confirming the price of your project, I will create a personal project folder using dropbox or google drive. Here you can upload mixes and download your final masters. I typically ask for a WAV file of your mix with and without any master bus processing. Please leave at least 3dB of headroom (Peaking at -3dB or lower) and export at the highest quality possible. Do not up or downsample, if your project was recorded/produced at 44.1kHz / 48kHz / 96kHz then please send me it at the same settings. My equipment can handle any downsampling in the most non-destructive and musical way.
Can I have revisions?
Absolutely! I want you to be 100% satisfied with the results so I offer 3 revisions as standard.
What equipment/plugins do you use?
I work in an acoustically balanced room with a world-class, all-analogue monitoring system from PSI. This ensures that I can hear every detail in your music. I can then apply carefully chosen effects, processing and tools to remedy any issues and enhance the impact and depth of your song. I am happy to share precisely what was done to your music during the mastering process – no secrets here, just good old-fashioned hard work.
